5.0 all summer long!

This Sakata entry bloomed all summer and tolerated full sun, though it required more water when temperatures rose over 90 F. It required minimal deadheading in containers (usually flowers damaged by sun, water or wind). No disease issues were noted.

5.0 all summer long!

The Proven Winner entry was a crowd pleaser all summer long! It bloomed from June through September, required light watering and no deadheading, and did not suffer from disease issues.

This PanAmerican seed entry was a strong contestant amongst the other plants.  It grew to be the largest and fullest Coleus out of nine other varieties.

This Proven Winner entry performed well in the ground and containers! It bloomed from June through September, required no deadheading, and did not have disease issues.

This Proven Winner entry was stunning planted next to Celosia 'New Look Red'. It bloomed all summer, tolerated 90 F temperatures, was cut back to promote more growth, but required no deadheading.

This Plug Connection entry was a great performer this summer. Flowers are very inconspicuous making this great foliage plant. It loved the hot 90 F temperatures.

This bright and cheerful Dummen entry was a great performer from June through September. This plant performed well in the ground and container. It required little deadheading and loved the heat!

This striking Ecke entry was grown in a container and ground. It performed well in both from June through September. It requires light watering and minimal deadheading.

This great grass submitted by PanAmerican was grown from seed. This plant makes a great filler in containers. Tolerated high temperatures very well. Had a distinct orange hue as the summer progressed.

This Plug Connection entry gave a nice tropical twist to the trial garden. It tolerates high temperatures, requires light watering, and did not suffer from any disease issues.
 
Acalypha Tiki 'Firestorm'

Acalypha Tiki 'Firestorm'

5.0 all summer long!

This Plug Connection entry was another strong performer in the trial garden. The leaves are smaller than the other Acalypha entry's, but they are an autumn red color all summer long. Maximum height was about 36". A very good plant to use if you want to add some height to your garden.
